The Competitiveness for Tourism Development Project aims to promote a competitive and diversified tourism sector as the basis for a new phase of inclusive growth for the country. To achieve this purpose, the project will contribute towards the ability to attract and manage medium and large investments that create jobs and wealth in a sustainable way in the economy.
This project addresses the GoCV's goal of promoting a new phase of inclusive growth in the economy, catalyzed by a competitive tourism sector. On the one hand, this implies attracting medium to large investments that bring jobs, taxes, and growth to the overall economy, and it is in this context that the Government of Cabo Verde has negotiated funding for this project with the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group for a total amount of US$ 15,000,000 (fifteen million US dollars).
