The main objective of the Energy System development project is to increase solar energy production capacity in Cape Verde through photovoltaic and solar thermal sources for water heating.

This project is an important element in the implementation of the government's energy policy, as it demonstrates and enhances the country's solar potential. It is in this context that the World Bank's SIDS-DOCK fund financed this project in the amount of one million US dollars (US$1,000,000).
