Workshop on the Program for Results (PforR) financing instrument
03 fevereiro, 2025Experts will meet for two days (February 3 and 4) to discuss the Program for Results (PforR) financing instrument, in a workshop promoted by the World Bank and the Government of Cape Verde. The event aims to deepen knowledge about this financing mechanism, its main characteristics and requirements, as well as exploring its application in national programs. This workshop represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen understanding of the PforR and its relevance to the implementation of public policies in Cape Verde.
On the first day of the workshop, participants are introduced to the functioning of the PforR, including its specificities, challenges and opportunities. Experts from the World Bank share experiences and best practices from other countries, providing an in-depth understanding of the implementation of this instrument.
The second day is dedicated to the practical application of the PforR in the Cape Verdean context, with an emphasis on the Youth Employment Program (PEJ). The discussion covers defining objectives, identifying challenges and formulating strategies for successful implementation.
It should be noted that the PforR was created by the World Bank with the aim of promoting concrete results and strengthening institutions in the sustainable development process. Governments, parliamentarians, civil society and the private sector demand programs that generate effective and lasting change, and the PforR was developed to drive these transformations in a practical and measurable way.
The PforR differs in that it links the disbursement of funds directly to the achievement of specific results, using existing institutions and processes in the beneficiary countries, which encourages the strengthening of local capacity, efficiency in the implementation of programs and support for government initiatives, with global availability, a focus on results and the strengthening of institutional capacity.
