UGPE trains employees to implement the World Bank’s Program for Results (PforR)
06 fevereiro, 2025On the morning of Thursday, February 6, employees from the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) took part in a presentation on the World Bank’s new financing approach, the Program for Results (PforR). The aim of the session was to deepen understanding of this tool, highlighting its main features, requirements and application in the Cape Verdean context.
The presentation took place as part of the workshop on the PforR financing instrument held by the World Bank and the Government of Cape Verde on February 3 and 4, which provided a comprehensive overview of the PforR. This instrument, developed by the World Bank, aims to promote concrete results and strengthen institutions in the beneficiary countries.
The PforR links the disbursement of resources to measurable results, increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs. In the Cape Verdean context, its introduction in strategic areas such as human capital and youth employment is being discussed. The PforR approach not only boosts efficiency in program execution, but also strengthens local institutional capacity, preparing Cape Verde to face development challenges in a more sustainable and effective way.
