Steering Committee aligns priorities to accelerate digital transformation by 2026
16 janeiro, 2026The 5th Ordinary Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Digital Cape Verde Project took place at a decisive moment for the consolidation and acceleration of the project’s implementation, focusing on the presentation and analysis of the Activity Plan and Budget for 2026. The meeting took place in the context of additional funding of 20 million currently being provided, which is considered crucial to giving new impetus to the implementation of actions and ensuring the achievement of the established goals, transforming public services, with impacts on the creation of a new generation of public services, efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered administration, digital competitiveness, and greater inclusion.
Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, the meeting was marked by a clear message of urgency, emphasizing the need to accelerate the work of the teams in order to ensure that the impacts of digital transformation are visible in the short term. The importance of the current alignment at the highest level of government leadership to boost the digital sector and transform strategic guidelines into concrete results was also highlighted.
Project Manager Guevara Cruz presented the Activity Plan and Budget for 2026, as well as the status of the main activities underway and the initiatives to be consolidated in the next implementation cycle.
During the discussions, critical aspects of implementation were analyzed, with emphasis on the importance of change management as a key factor for the success of the reforms underway. It was emphasized that the effective adoption of digital solutions requires not only technological investment, but also institutional capacity building, team involvement, and coordination between entities.
The meeting ended with a strong call to action, reinforcing the need to accelerate the implementation of initiatives, continuously improve processes, and ensure that the Cape Verde Digital Project has a concrete impact on the modernization of public administration and the strengthening of the national digital ecosystem.
