On May 2, the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), in partnership with the World Bank, organized a training session aimed at private companies interested in World Bank-funded project tenders.

The main objective of the event was to provide knowledge about the policies and procedures applicable to these tenders, especially for companies that regularly participate in UGPE initiatives.

During the session, various topics were covered, such as the rules and procedures of World Bank tenders, preparation and drafting of proposals, important clauses in the instructions for consultants/suppliers, evaluation and selection criteria, as well as relevant contractual clauses.

The opening session was led by UGPE Coordinator Nuno Gomes, who stressed the importance of this initiative for the private sector, highlighting its significant role in improving the process of companies participating in tenders.

The World Bank’s Senior Procurement Specialist, Laurent Mehdi Brito, and the UGPE’s Procurement Officer, Madelene David, led the training session, offering valuable insights and guidance to the participants.
