COVID-19 Emergency Response Project: World Bank Implementation and Supervision Mission

In order to support the country in the implementation of the #COVID-19 Emergency Response Project and the start-up of the MPA CV Health Security Program, a World Bank team is on mission this week, from March 25 to 28.

During the meetings with local institutions, details of the planned activities, the timeline and the implementation plan were discussed, with a view to ensuring the effective progress of the project.

The discussion focused on analyzing progress to date and preparing for future implementation, especially in areas such as #digitalhealth, human resources and flexible health infrastructure.

The team led by Senior Economist and Team Leader, André L. Carletto, was accompanied by health specialist, Jorge Noel Barreto, at the meeting with the UGPE to discuss procurement issues and other pertinent financial topics.

In addition, throughout the mission, the UGPE Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, has been closely monitoring the activities of the World Bank team, ensuring effective and fluid coordination between the parties involved.
