The Minister of Transportation and the Sea, João do Carmo Soares, visited the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) this Thursday, July 16.

Following a guided tour of the UGPE facilities, the Minister met with the institution’s Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, and the Manager of the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project (RTBED), Vladimir Fonseca, to review the project’s current status and analyze the main challenges associated with its implementation.

During the meeting, the UGPE presented an overview of the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project, highlighting the main areas of intervention and the status of some of the key works currently underway. The main challenges to the project’s implementation were also discussed, including issues that require attention and decision-making to ensure the smooth progress of activities.

On that occasion, the Minister emphasized the importance of gaining firsthand insight into the reality of the projects implemented by UGPE, particularly the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project, noting that this approach will help identify solutions that contribute to a faster and more effective execution of the planned actions. He also highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening human resources and vocational training as strategic pillars for the sustainable development of the tourism and blue economy sectors.
