On Monday, July 21, the Government of Cape Verde inaugurated the renovated 7 Sóis 7 Luas Cultural Center, located in the city of Ribeira Grande, on Santo Antão. The project, budgeted at 17 million escudos, gives the population a completely revitalized space, now more functional, attractive, and aligned with the cultural dynamics of the island.

Chaired by Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Ribeira Grande, Armindo Luz, Ministers Jorge Santos and Gilberto Silva, and the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Cape Verde, Indira Campos.

The intervention gave the center a new architectural identity and multiple features, including:
– a new floor;
– exhibition hall;
– fully equipped bar;
– accommodation space for artists;
– parking lot;
– new outdoor plaza, among other improvements.

With this renovation, the 7 Sóis 7 Luas Cultural Center asserts itself as a strategic hub for artistic promotion, cultural exchange, and tourism, contributing to urban revitalization and the enhancement of local identity.

The initiative is part of a broader government vision to transform culture into an engine of sustainable development, reinforcing the role of Santo Antão on the map of creativity, hospitality, and national and international tourism.
