3rd Ordinary Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project
16 janeiro, 2026The 3rd Ordinary Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project was held, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Olavo Correia. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Transport, José Luís Sá Nogueira, the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Augusto Veiga, and, online, the Minister of the Sea, Jorge Santos.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of consolidating the gains already achieved, strengthening governance based on coordination between sectors and information sharing, as well as promoting greater stakeholder involvement. He also expressed confidence in the team responsible for implementing the project and reiterated his conviction that the defined objectives will be met.
The main objective of the meeting was to approve the project’s activity plan and budget for 2026. The status of the project’s implementation was analyzed, with a special focus on the progress of activities and the challenges identified, particularly in the area of infrastructure refurbishment and rehabilitation works.
During the meeting, issues related to the execution of the works in progress were discussed, and joint solutions were debated to overcome constraints and accelerate the implementation of the project, with the support of the various government entities involved.
The Project Management Unit was represented by a team led by Coordinator Nuno Gomes, accompanied by project manager Vladimir Fonseca and procurement manager Madelene David.
