The Multisectoral Regulation Agency for the Economy (ARME), as Cape Verde’s Root Certification Body (ECRCV), has been awarded the #WebTrust Seal of Conformity, an international certification that guarantees the highest level of security and trust in digital certification. The recognition validates the root digital certificate of the national infrastructure and allows it to be included in global repositories and browsers, boosting electronic transactions and digital commerce in the country.

The official award took place at TechPark, in Praia, during the workshop “Trust and Security – WebTrust in Cape Verde’s Root Certification Authority”, promoted by ARME on May 2nd. The initiative is part of the strategic actions of the National Cybersecurity Strategy (ENCS), which aims to consolidate a secure and resilient digital economy.

On the occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, highlighted the importance of a digital ecosystem based on modern legislation, advanced technologies and trained teams, reaffirming the government’s commitment to making Cape Verde a Digital Nation.

The President of #ARME, Leonilde Santos, explained that obtaining the seal was the result of a process initiated by UGPE as part of the Digital Cape Verde Project, with legal adaptation and technical training actions.
